UPDATES
1. Grading and Drainage - This phase includes recontouring 4.7 million cubic yards of earth and installing 5,000 linear feet of 18" to 72" storm drain. Construction of this work is complete. This engineering was performed by PBS&J Engineering.
2. Utilities - All utilities are being extended to the site. Design of a sanitary sewer trunkline, from Little Valley along the Fort Pearce Wash, is complete. The 60,000 linear feet of 18" sewer line is under construction. A 16" water transmission line has been extended to the site along the existing access road. Construction of a project to loop the water line around the 1,203 acre site, is complete. The power distribution line is being constructed by Dixie REA. Construction of the communication system (phone and broadband service) is pending.
3. Airfield - The airfield consists of the 9,300 ft. long and 150 ft. wide runway, a full taxiway on the eastside, a partial taxiway on the westside, airfield lighting and signing, electrical vault and terminal apron. This engineering is being done by PBS&J. Construction is scheduled for an August completion.
4. Buildings - Design of a 34,500 sq. ft. terminal building is complete and the building is under construction. The building design is inspired by St. George’s landscape, tradition and history. It incorporates a large canyon-like corridor, wood paneling and windows that emphasize light and exterior views. Construction is also pending for an air rescue and fire-fighting building. The buildings are being designed by Reynolds, Smith and Hill Architects,and Campbell and Associates.
5. Landside Facilities - The landside design includes facilities outside of the airfield security fence such as: parking, access roads and landscaping. This project is under construction and includes a road from the Southern Parkway to the airport entry.
6. Banded Hills Drive - This project will improve the existing access road from Little Valley Road to the Replacement Airport. Construction is currently under way.
